Hope. Is it a gift or a curse? Sam and I believe it's a mistake. We believe hope is always a mistake. This is why.

"Everything is right the way it is right now," is a quote by Jared, who texted that to me one night.

there. How's your day going one night or day, or I don't know what I was texting with Sam and I told him. Not to get his hopes up about something. And he wrote back hope is a mistake. Which I agree with completely. And I was like, can we please do that episode? So here it is. Hope is a mistake. Hope is a mistake. Why is hope a mistake? First of all, where'd it come from? So, I guess there was a little confusion, I used to think that hope is a mistake came from the dark night. as a quote from this movie, but it's actually from mad max. both characters. The character that said this. And the one I thought was saying our Tom Hardy character. So it basically Tom Hardy. That's where this came from. And I'll stop clicking my fingernails on the table. Yeah. and so I thought it was kind of funny when we were like looking earlier, actually figure out where hope is. Mistake came from. We came across. The dark Knight quote. That kind of played into the reason why hope is actually a mistake. we're Bain is talking about. What is it? You can't be, um, not misery. Despair despair. I can't have to despair without hope. Yeah, because you have to like, hope is the thing. That's going to bring you up to the mountain top. Only to find. That you failed. then you fall from that high point all the way back down to reality. Because of hope. Hope made you climb up there when, if you had not. Had the hope. If you had just stayed in the moment in the reality of your situation and said, what can I do to get out of this situation right now? Instead of hoping that something else would happen or come along to save you from the situation. Even if you failed, you be no worse off than you already were. That's why hope is a mistake. it's so hard for us to see it. Yep. Especially when our tone, as long as we have hope. Well, keep going or we'll, it's like, Y, what if we just like were present? And ourselves in the moment, then you don't need hope because you have that's when you have the knowing. Right. So you don't have any hope. Because you have knowledge. You have reality of truth. You. Authenticity, all of it right there in the moment. I think also people probably confuse. Hope. For perseverance or forward thinking. To plan for an eventuality I always used to say this thing. Plan for the worst hope for the best. And you're never going to be disappointed because you're always going to land somewhere in the middle, but you have to accept. That those two extremes. Aren't the reality of the situation. Um, and that the reality will be somewhere in the center, somewhere in between those two extremes. so in that case, you don't actually have hope. You're just using hope as like, Uh, benchmark. Okay. Does that, does that make sense? But I don't do that. No, no. I don't hope for the best I expect the best. I just think that it's like every day is the best day. It is because it's today, like, Right now it was the best moment. That it could be anyway, no matter what. Sure. Okay. You could say that it actually, the quote would make a little more sense. If you said, plan for the worst, expect the best and you will never be disappointed. You've completely removed hope from the equation. Right, right. And it actually, for me, that feels a little more like. What's going on for me when I do that. because I'm just sort of erecting this. like a protective bubble around my moment so that it's not. Being like superseded by trying to be over planful or worrying, or you can just let those things go. At that point, now that you've gotten your expectation and your plans, now you can just let them go and be there. Okay. That sounds like. Bullshit. That sounds like. Okay. This is what I'd like this to look like. I'm an old, let it go. And that's not attachment. So you're living in the present. You've used your brain to do what your brain is meant to do. Problem solved, basically. Basically. Preemptively right. But you also know that. Yeah. You're expecting the best, but you're also aware that things happen and maybe you'll have to problem solve, but you've already solved something. Right. Uh, you know, I try to say, okay, Hey, here's X, Y, and Z. How this could really go wrong. I'm not worrying about it going wrong. I'm just saying this is it. These are the ways that I can see right now from where I'm standing. How those things might go badly. And if those things happen, this is what I want to do when that occurs. Now I've set those plans there. Kind of like thrown them off into the future and I don't have to pay any attention to them until I potentially arrive at that point. I can come back to being here. Yeah. It's like a safety net almost, or like a. It is, it's a safety net to protect the moment. And it gives you confidence. It wouldn't be anyway to like, have that. Okay. If this happens, I'll do this. Right. Yeah, confidence is the absence of hope. Confidence is, was like, The opposite of hope. In some level you are saying. I'm not hoping that this will happen. This is happening. I'm manifesting this. Whether or not, I get to the end and it's what I wanted. This is what I'm mad at manifesting. This is that's that like, The way of the samurai, like I'm going to just move. From point a to point B, because that's what I said I would do. And that's what I'm doing. If the guy died in between point a and B, he would die. Happy. Because he was at least doing the thing that he knew he should do. No hope involved. Yeah, that's a really good definition. hi, full free refund. Snifter. That's a really good definition of confidence. I'm doing. This thing it's happening. I'm doing it because I said that I was going to. The best way to get confidence. Is to do something every day that proves to yourself that you are who you say you are. Keep your word. Set the boundary and hold it. Speak your truth and keep it. You will be so confident. It's amazing. You won't need hope. Because hope as Jim Carrey said in some speech. About some graduation. That I saw on like probably YouTube or Facebook or something. Hope is a beggar and a thief. Hope takes you out of yourself and gives your power to something else. you won't have confidence then. Your power is within you. Hope is a mistake. What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts. Until next time. We are sending all the love and then somewhere. We'll talk tomorrow.
